The day started with a overcast sky which did not bode well for the day ahead, and the FIRST

BAD TASTE BEAR Bar-B-Q held at Greystoke Castle at Penrith in Cumbria. Arriving at just the right time, it turned out as vehicles were just being allowed into the Castle grounds and parking area. Because we were among the first in Maggi and myself were soon to collect our very own Lance the special Greystoke Event BTB, others who arrived later would find a long wait for their Lance because of the queue, and queues seemed to be the order for the day. By timing our tea and snack breaks just right and ducking into the Piranha Shop Tent, and spending loads of pennies we managed to avoid the heaviest downpours, and during the bright spells of weather chatted with other BTB nuts which made it a most enjoyable day out. If there was to be a down point to the days proceedings it was the hourly raffle draw, and the big draw for Pete's Books at the end of the day. Our expectation started very high, both of us feeling very lucky but as the hourly draws came and went sadly for us our numbers did not come out, and we wondered at the end if we trod in something ........lol
