Poor Christian created quite a lot of public debate in Newcastle the home of Piranha with his picture appearing in the regional news paper      Quotes from local clergymen include "It is blasphemous"   "Although this is a small issue, I fear it's a symptom of a big lack respect for god"   "People are upset of the way Christ is depicted"   "The figurine probably is in bad taste but ironically it may actually provoke people to ask the question about what the crown of thorns and cross really mean" And from Piranha Studios "We are the Bad Taste Bears and in light of that fact, consumers know exactly the type of product we are producing"   There is a huge demand and as long as that remains we will continue to supply the products"   "Our advice is if you don't like them don't buy them" And from collectors there has been a thumbs-up they love him!   My special thanks go to Lisa (lheslam from the Bears Nuts) for going to a lot of trouble to obtain the newspaper so that I could add some more information to this page.
